And now a classic J-Blog look back at the week that was, and those who made it worth living. That's right, it's the three stars. If you would like to nominate someone for future three star consideration, leave a comment below.
3rd Star: Phil!
Let's be honest: The Toronto media doesn't know what they're talking about! Phil! looked pretty great to me on Tuesday night, netting two goals in the Penguins ludicrous win over the Carolina Hurricanes. I'm trying not to let that win get to me, because A) it was the preseason and B) even if they had dressed their starters the Hurricanes would have been a push over. But still, hockey is back, and it was a great game to watch!
2nd Star: Twinkies
There was obviously some miscommunication, as the 4th graders at Streams Elementary informed Ed that Twinkies no longer existed. When Ed informed me of this, I spent $10 on buying Twinkies on eBay, such was my desire to own them. Then, earlier this week, as I was shopping at the drug store, I came across Twinkies in real life! Apparently while Twinkies did in fact go away in 2012, they returned in 2013 and have been back ever since. While I'm out $10, A) it was really funny to complain about that with Ed and B) I'm super glad to know I could have a Twinkie any time I wanted one.
1st Star: Pope Francis
I had a half hour yesterday to watch the news, and as a flipped between all three major networks, all I could find was footage of Pope Francis getting out of his Fiat and getting into the Popemobile. This is how big a deal the Pope has been, his travel arrangements are consuming our 24 hour news networks! But truthfully, this Pope is the real deal. He's not afraid to speak his mind, and what's going on in his mind reminds me an awful lot of the mind of Christ. Not such a bad thing at all.
