Why hello there bloggers!
It's so great to be back with you all! Sarah and I had an amazing time visiting family in New York City last week. We enjoyed the ocean, spent serious time in a kayak, and laughed as our family tried to guess the names of the twins with little to no success.
But a strange thing happened when we got back. Fall is here. Tomorrow night, we dive back in to our regular Veritas schedule. Tomorrow night. As in, the very next day on the calendar, we are back to youth group. The students actually began school today. All of this of course leaving me to wonder where our summer vacation actually went? I feel like we were just winding down for the year like two minutes ago, and now we're back into the regular season.
Don't get me wrong, it was a great summer. Alive saw a bunch of kids band together in the face of horrible miserable weather. The New Wilmington Mission Conference was a blast, and something I'm hoping to bring students to next year. I had a great time working at Pine Springs for a week this summer, getting to hand out with friends and make new ones. And there were countless lunch meetings and hanging out with students over the course of the summer. God was clearly at work!
But now it's time to shift gears again, to get into fall mode. It's time to shake the dust off the J and Ed Variety Show. It's time to break the dodgeballs back out of their storage. It's time to see some of the students we haven't seen since summer began. It's time.
