When I come across videos like this, I find myself sitting at my desk just in awe of the universe. For as much as we think we know, we keep on finding new things that do new things. And sure, Alka-seltzer in space might not be the most practical, but isn't it neat to see?
The truth is, our world is a remarkable place. More often than I care to admit, I just kind of go through the motions of my day without taking note of what's happening around me. I frequently ride my bike to work while my head is full of to-do lists and projects rather than taking in what's happening in the world around me. I might roll past animals or awesome looking trees or people I need to catch up with without giving them a second thought.
Too often our mundane lives come at the expense of something called wonder. We lose the capacity to look at what God is doing in the world, and allow our jaws to hit the ground. Friends, take some time today for wonder. Sit outside for lunch. Go for a walk on a nature trail. Sit with a loved one and praise God they're a part of your life. Even 30 seconds worth of wonder will go a long way to making a rich full day.
And of course, enjoy the above video just one more time!
