When I left this weekend for Laurelville, I had a bit of a cough that was nagging me. It seems to happen every year, that I get a cold right after term I in school, then the cough from said cold sticks around forever. By Sunday, the last day of a weekend that includes crawling around in the mud in a rainstorm in $10 worth of goodwill clothing, I had lost the cough. I joked with a few friends that this was the first time in recorded history that I had gone to Laurelville sick and come home healthy.
By Monday the cough returned in full force. By Tuesday I coughed so much during the day that my abs hurt, more an indictment of my personal physical fitness than anything else I suspect. By Wednesday I was going full on fever with tremors and shakes and sweating. It's a nasty one people!
I've just crawled out of my shell to check in on things at work, so I'm sort of kind of back among the land of the living. But the thing I'm reading all over the internet is that this illness is hitting everyone, and hitting them hard. So my plea to everyone is to wear a surgical mask, because so help me if I somehow catch this thing again...
But seriously folks, do take precautions. There is nothing worse that being sick over the Christmas holiday. Cripes, even Sidney Crosby got this thing, so just imagine how susceptible us mere mortals are.
Plenty more to come! Stay tuned.
